MY LONDON LIFE - Jeremy Lamb

Liquid error: invalid date

01 Name

Jeremy Lamb

02 Job title

Chartered surveyor and auctioneer for Andrew Scott Robertson in the Camberwell office.

03 Where do you live?

04 How long have you been in London?

Fifteen years.

05 Preferred mode of transport

For work I take the car; as an auctioneer, I can clock up quite a bit of mileage. If I’m just going to the office I sometimes cycle - I’m a big cycling fan, but I’m not mad on commuting through London on a bike as I like to arrive in one piece!

06 Favourite London view

From the middle of Waterloo Bridge at night - west to the London Eye, Golden Jubilee Bridge and Houses of Parliament, east to the City. It never fails to impress.

07 Ideal weekend in London

Generally some fresh air to get the kids out of the house, so frequent walks on Wimbledon Common, along the river or in Richmond Park. I love the South Bank if we’re feeling adventurous: there’s always lots to see and the kids will walk for quite a while without moaning! Evenings in or meeting up with friends locally - there are some good restaurants in Southfields.

08 Favourite restaurant

I’ve taken clients to Hawksmoor a couple of times recently. I’m a big fan of steak and they’re fantastic here - it’s a real treat and has a nice relaxed atmosphere with ‘chilled’ friendly staff.

09 I’ve always meant to…

Inspired by Mark Wallington’s ridiculous and very amusing book Boogie up the River, I’d like to rent a boat on the Thames Estuary and travel upstream as far as it’s possible to navigate. With so much history and contrast, I think it would be a great trip.

10 The best thing about my patch

One of the things I love about London is the parks and green open spaces. In Southfields, we’re spoilt: I can walk, cycle or run for miles and hardly cross a road - right on the edge of one of the largest cities in the world.
